Dear Pat and family,
We are saddened to learn of Gene's passing, and extend our deepest condolences. We will fondly remember Gene's wonderful smile, his dynamic personality and his beautifully spoken Spanish! We are comforted in knowing that he is now in Heaven with family members and talking up a storm with his buddy, Jimmy Sedillo.

My dear Pat, I am so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I first met him when I applied for a p/t job in Admin in the summer of '78. He interviewed me, acknowledged my references from Gerry Ladhoff, but hired me because my middle name is Patricia.
We, and you, remained friends all of our years involved with the church. Gene gave me very loving and sound advise when I first learned I had a chronic disease around 2003. He lovingly counciled me for years when I saw him at daily mass. He started as a guy who hired me (because of my middle name!), became a mentor and then a friend and confidant.
In the mean time, I met and knew you... a champion! Never did you deny me when I called with a truly deserving case. Yes, i worked for the church, but the two of you taught me to be a discerning Christian recognizing when I was being called. I love you both, Wendy

Pat, I am so sorry to hear about Gene. My daughter just let me know he passed. The world has lost an amazing man. I loved walking across the street and talking to you both. Gene was a very kind gentleman, passionate in his beliefs. He will be missed. My prayers and condolences to you, the kids and the grandchildren. God speed into the wild blue yonder Gene.
