Reymundo (Ray) Duran, 81 years old, of Flagstaff, passed away on October 9, 2019 in Flagstaff, AZ.

Ray was born in Jerome, AZ to Fernando Duran and Trinidad Olacirequi Duran on September 2, 1938.  He went to school in Jerome and later attended Northern Arizona University studying History.  He married Sarah Ann Martinez on June 5, 1960. He worked for the Flagstaff Sawmill and later was self-employed.  He was also in the Army National Guard.  Ray is preceded in death by his brothers Fernando Duran and Alfonso Duran.  

Ray is survived by his wife Sarah Ann Duran, sister Hermie (Toni) Sicari, children Trini K. Stoddard (William Stoddard), Ray Duran Jr, Jennie Marie Duran, Hermie Melinda Duran (Cary Reynolds), and Timothy Max Duran.  He also has 13 grandchildren including Tyler Stoddard, Levi Duran, Kyle Stoddard, Laci Duran, Cory Duran, Jonathon Duran, Cody Phillips, Aubrey Stoddard, Angelica Duran, Layla Duran, Lilly Duran, Preeya Ahmed, Paloma Ahmed, Hayden Duran.  Great Grandson – Julius Stoddard and many other nieces, nephews, family members. The Duran family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Northern Arizona Hospice, Olivia White Hospice Home, family, friends and everyone who listened to our father’s tall tales. Heartfelt thanks to all who brought kind words, support, food and those who visited with Ray.  He was never alone thanks to you.

Please join in the Celebration of Life service on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the American Legion, 204 W. Birch Ave, Flagstaff, AZ  86001.    The gathering of family and friends will go on throughout the day from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the formal service beginning at 4:00 pm.
