IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernarda Valerio
Hernandez
August 20, 1934 – January 15, 2019
Mrs. Bernarda "Berna" Valerio Hernandez began her journey to heaven and peacefully passed away in her home on January 15th in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Bernarda is survived by her 7 siblings, her beloved children; Vincent, Jesus/Ernestine, Margarita, Lydia/Ruben, Robert and Raul. She is also blessedly survived by 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.She was preceded by her cherished husband, Magdaleno Hernandez, and 3 beloved children, Lupe, Maria Elena and Jose Antonio (Tony), and 2 great granchildren.
Bernarda was born in Zacatecas, Mexico in 1934.She married her best friend in 1951.After relocating to Flagstaff in 1961, Bernarda and Magdaleno remained in Flagstaff where they raised their children. She was a strong woman raising her family and living the good life through nurturing for all.The Hernandez home was a place where she brought us laughter, love and care for all who can remember the lifestyle that was lived in her home. She was pleasured in life by all her children, grandchildren and others that she would care for and took into her home as her own. She had a bubbly sense of humor.Words do no justice in describing all her goodness. Her legacy will live in our hearts forever. She was a prayer warrior and unceasingly adored God our Father, Jesus, Our most Holy Virgin Mary and Santo Nino de Atocha. She spent the past 30 years patiently looking forward to being reunited with her loving husband and is now rejoicing in heaven; along with her 3 children, parents and other loved ones.
A Rosary is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22nd at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel. The Mass will be held Wednesday, January 23rd at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel.
