Carolyn Nancy Hink was born in Tucson, Arizona September 18, 1944 to William and Grace Murphy.She passed away peacefully at home October 31, 2011 at the age of 67.Graduating from Loma Linda University in 1969, she earned her Secondary Teaching Credential from the University of California, Riverside in 1970.She and Jeffrey Hink were married in Orinda, California December 18, 1976.

As a young girl, Carolyn attended dance classes and participated in various recitals and programs.Her love of ballet continued throughout her lifetime.Upon her arrival in Flagstaff, she performed in several local productions, eventually teaching ballet classes at Northern Arizona University.

Carolyn continued her early passion for painting during retirement.She painted in watercolors for several years, becoming a member of the Watermark Studios Art Group of Flagstaff.Her work was displayed in various galleries beginning in 2005.During the past few years, she concentrated on oil painting, featuring scenes of the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, and the beautiful Southwest.

Carolyn enjoyed worship services at Trinity Heights Church and attended several local support groups from which she drew inner strength as well as providing her insight and support to others.She loved gardening, the outdoors, animals and spending time with her family and many friends.Certainly, the love she had for others has been generously returned to her during the past several months.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Hink and beloved son, Alex Hink, both of Flagstaff, mother, Grace Niles and sister, Colleen Murphy, both of Ridgecrest, California, and nephews, Brett Nelson of Fresno, California and Gavin Nelson of Costa Mesa, California.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, 3600 N. Fourth St. on Tuesday November 8th at 10:00 AM.
