Christopher Alex Hafen was born on February 14, 1989, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming: a beautiful Valentine blessing to parents Krysti and Alex Hafen. Chris moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona where he spent his school-aged years and was very fortunate to have met the love of his life and best friend, Kasey Judd. After graduating from Moon Valley High School in 2008, they eventually ventured to Portland, Oregon where almost a decade-worth of memories were made, and they gave their beloved dog Cooper an abundant life. Chris spent his final year in Kingman, Arizona working alongside his dad and spending quality time with him. He recently relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona where he passed away on March 7, 2023, at age 34.

Chris is survived by his mother Krysti Gingrass (Carl), father Alex Hafen (Cheryl), sister Amy Hafen, sister Lacy Burke (Michael), many half and step siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chris will forever be remembered as an easygoing guy with a heart of gold and a unique personality. Born with a gentle spirit and given a true gift of ingenuity, he would amaze anyone by rigging up or fixing almost anything. What he enjoyed most was being around the ones he loved, and he appreciated the simple things in life. A perfect day to Chris would be spent camping with his sidekick Cooper on the cool Oregon coast, crabbing from a small fishing boat, and soaking up the sunset while grilling one of his famous steaks around a fire.

With his faith in Jesus Christ, we have assurance we will see him again in Heaven. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16

Christopher Hafen's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 29, 2023, at 11:00am at Pure Heart Church, 14240 N. 43rd Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85306, with a reception afterwards. A graveside service will be after the reception at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
