Claire M. Carter went to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2011 after a very long battle with Alzheimer's and eventually cancer.
Mrs. Carter was born in Ferdinand, Idaho in 1917, the second daughter of John and Eva Fry.She married Murl W. Cater in 1943.Following WWII they resided in Centralia, WA.In 1958 they moved to Flagstaff where they managed Pine Springs truck stop among other business ventures.They moved to Kingman in 1962 where they resided until Murl's death in 2007.While in Kingman, Claire worked for KAAA radio, Mohave County Union School district and lastly as executive secretary for Mohave County Community College.God blessed her with a beautiful voice, which she shared in the choir at St. John's Methodist Church and at other community events.Following Murl's death, she moved to Flagstaff to be closer to her daughter Melanie.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughter, Melanie (Tom) Gosch, grandchildren, T.C. (Autumn) Gosch and Sarah (Scott) Lawrence, as well as four cherished great grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her gracious and sweet spirit.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aspen House for their tender loving care during Claire's stay.
The family will hold private services.
