Obituary

Clifford E. Kunze, of Flagstaff, Arizona, left this earth on February 1, 2022. Left to mourn him is his wife, Dixie, whom he married on June 11, 1977. He is also survived by his son Greg (Martha) and grandchildren Austin (Bekka) and Sadie, his step-son Derek Miller (Tommi), and grandsons Zachary and Ashton. Also, his brother-in-law, Daryl Hobson (Julie) sister Marilee Beach, mother-in-law Evelyn Hobson,and many nieces and nephews.



Cliff was born on April 28, 1950, and lived in the Mansfield, Ohio, area until adulthood. He was the youngest of four children: Marilee, Maleta, and Keith who also survive, born to the late Leta and John Kunze.



Cliff had lived in Flagstaff since 2019. He also resided in Kansas City, Kansas; Mapleton, Minnesota; Shakopee, Minnesota; Newton, New Jersey; Monticello, Indiana; and Plymouth, Indiana; while employed as a Central Office Telephone Technician by North Electric Company and United Telephone Company. Upon retirement, he moved to Parke County, Indiana, for thirteen years before continuing on to Flagstaff.



Cliff served four years on the Parke County Community Foundation Board and was a founding member and on the Board of the Covered Bridge Gateway Trails Association (now Parke Trails Alliance).



Cliff had many loves. First and foremost, his wife Dixie of 44 years, his family, beer, hiking, chess, early American History, musical theater (Hamilton was his favorite), NASCAR and traveling. Cliff was an avid NotreDamefootball fan and was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend numerous NotreDame home games.



There will be no services, per Cliff's wishes. If friends would so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Parke County Community Foundation, 115 N. Market St., Rockville, IN 47872.
