IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David "Dave"
Lars Nevala
September 5, 1980 – January 18, 2024
On January 18th, 2024, David 'Dave' Lars Nevala was tragically killed near his home in Flagstaff, AZ.
Dave was born on September 5, 1980, in Minnesota. He spent his childhood years in Tempe, Arizona. After high school Dave enlisted in the US Marines and returned after numerous tours. He then joined the US Army where he served as a Special Forces (Green Beret) Sergeant First Class. Dave completed 18 years of military service, retiring due to medical complications associated with multiple combat deployments as one of "America's Best." His last active-duty assignment was as an Army Special Operations Recruiter, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
While his Family, Friends, Brothers of the Special Forces Brotherhood Motorcycle Club (SFBMC) and the Special Forces Association (SFA) are devastated by the loss of this decorated soldier, comfort is found knowing Dave leaves behind a legacy of charity, compassion, and love.
Dave is survived by his wife, Tiffany, and son Jackson. His mother, Ruth Nevala, siblings: Kimberly Nevala, Lance (Kei) Nevala, Steven (Nicole) Nevala, Kristin Nevala, Karin (Mikail) Nevala, and Ryan (Sarah) Nevala plus; fifteen nieces and nephews; and an extensive network of extended family and friends.
