IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Anthony
Rosalez
October 11, 1966 – October 15, 2014
Donald Anthony Rosalez was born on October 11, 1966 and passed into the healing embrace of Our Lord Jesus Christ on October 15, 2014.
Donald was born and raised in Flagstaff. He attended South Beaver and Marshall elementary schools and graduated from Flagstaff High School. He attended NAU for a couple of years and then chose to enlist in the Navy where he was accepted into the Navy Nuclear Power School. While in the service Donald suffered a debilitating nervous breakdown that totally changed and altered the course of his life.Donald never fully recovered his mental health, instead, he was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Donald's unwavering faith in God, strong personality and strength of character were the saving graces in his valiant struggle with the illness. To say that Donald suffered in this life is an understatement but he always persevered, determined to live life his way. This "Little one" of God was very social and loved people. He was one of those souls, with many gifts to share, that The Lord will often times send us but we fail to recognize.Through out his life Donald touched many people's lives and, because of the illness, the experience could be positive or negative totally depending on the way he was perceived.Donald's most often used words to anyone and everyone that he might come in contact with – Thank you. God bless you. I love you.
Donald was preceded in death by his brother David E. Rosalez, paternal grandparents Don and Esther Rosalez, maternal grandparents Manuel and Maria Contreras and his uncle Joe Contreras.Donald is survived by parents Donald & Alice (Contreras) Rosalez, sisters Sheila Stewart and Julie Rosalez, brothers Diego and Jorge Rosalez and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles scattered across several states.
