During these years she married George Pitlik and was blessed with Ken, Sheila and Missy.

She moved to Key West, Florida in 1970 where she earned her associate's degree in Business from The Florida Keys Community College. She worked as a teacher's assistant at Poinciana Elementary School and also as a technician where she wired harnesses for Navy Submarines at Farran Electronics on the Old Naval Base. In 1980 Donna and her family moved to The Woodlands, Texas. She spent the next 30 years as an office Executive in the Houston medical community.
