Obituary

Ernesto Tachias, born January 15, 1925, in Cabazon, New Mexico passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024, at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Ernesto served in the United States Army and is a World War II Veteran, after his time in the service he came back to Flagstaff and proudly worked at the Navajo Army Depot for several years then went and worked and retired from USPS.

Ernesto is a patriarch who loves spending his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, loves playing his guitar and always humming or singing. He had a great love for God and sports. Ernesto is such an honest, kind, fair, loving person who always helped the less fortunate every year by donating turkeys for the holidays.

Ernesto is survived by his daughter Irene Tachias (Charles Porter), grandchildren Tabatha (Gino), Sabrina (Corey), Samantha, and Aurelia (Jesus) and several great grandchildren. He preceded in death by his wife Eloisa Tachias and sons Mario Tachias, Orlando Tachias, Paul Tachias, and Martin Tachias.

The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Brianna Avitia for all her help with taking care of Ernesto and Eloisa Tachias, they greatly appreciate it, and the honor was ours!

Services are on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 10:00 am starting with the Holy Rosary at San Francis de Asis followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Graveside services is at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 12:00 pm. Reception will follow back at San Franciso de Asis.
