FERDINAND "FRITZ" P. HEINRICHS, the son of Alphonse and Christina Heinrichs was born January 27, 1930 in Bridgewater, SD. The family moved to Iowa where he graduated from Carroll High School. He married Marie Jackley on June 28, 1948 and together they raised 3 children and have been blessed with 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Fritz owned and operated Gambles, a hardware store in Sigourney, IA before venturing our west. In 1971, the family moved to Flagstaff, AZ where he founded the "Fritz's Map Vending" business. After retiring in 1989, he enjoyed traveling, woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Fritz passed away Friday evening, June 13, 2014 at the Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff, AZ, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Heinrichs, brothers Alvin and Edward and Roman Heinrichs and son, Mark Heinrichs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie, of Flagstaff, AZ; son Craig (Judy) Heinrichs of Oskaloosa,IA; daughter Kathy (Bobby) Smith of Flagstaff, AZ, daughter-in-law Janet Heinrichs of Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren, Allegra (Phillip)Waddell of Tucson, AZ, Jennifer (David) Skersick and Julie (George) Grecu of Flagstaff, AZ and Nicholas (Kelly) Heinrichs of Iowa City, IA; great-grandchildren Colson and Cooper Skersick and Laura and Annie Heinrichs; sister Irene Glenn of Oskaloosa, IA and brother, Corkey Heinrichs of Spencer, IA; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
