Obituary

Glenn D. McMinn, 83, of Flagstaff passed away peacefully at his home on February 3, 2017.He was born on March 11, 1933 in Chillicothe, Texas.

Glenn is survived by his wife Francene McMinn, daughters Denee (Tory Woodard) and Destene McMinn, two granddaughters Terran McMinn and Delaina Rojos, grandsons Jarred McMinn (Parker) and Donovan McMinn,great granddaughters Yasmeen, Liliana, Alexis, Kamea, Evolet and Ari'lanae, and brother Gary Joe McMinn (Rod Blanco).He is preceded in death by his parents Georgia Mae and John McMinn.

In his earlier years Glenn played semi professional baseball for 12 seasons and after leaving baseball in 1962 he went on to become a PGA golf professional.He started his golf career at the Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara, CA as the assistant to the head golf professional.Not only did Glenn play on the PGA tour, but he also became the head golf professional at the Village Country Club in Lompoc, CA and then moved to the Century Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ , which later became the Orange Tree.In 1978 the family moved to Flagstaff where Glenn was employed at Walgreens Distribution Center for 23 years and retired in 2007.

Glenn's most favorite activity was spending time with his precious grandchildren.He enjoyed every moment they were all together.He also loved being in the mountains, long walks, hunting, and fishing.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary.
