Guadalupe Roybal
Reyes
September 1, 1924 – November 6, 2023
Guadalupe was born in 1924 to Miguel and Bersabella Roybal in Santa Fe, NM. She graduated from high school 1943 and moved with her parents to Flagstaff. Her first job was at Navajo Army Depot in Bellemont as an ammunition checker. She also worked at Kaibab Candy Company, Carter's Mode O' Day, Carter's Dress Shop and Carter's Baby Shop. In 1949, she married the love of her life, Ralph Reyes, who passed away in 1999. She and her husband owned and operated Family Food Market by the name of Ralph's Market for 17 years. After retirement, she went on a pilgrimage with Father Richard Moyer. They visited the Holy Land, the Vatican, Florence, Pompeii and Rome. Guadalupe was very active in her church, belonging to the Guadalupanas Society, Cursillo, Marriage Encounter and the Legion of Mary. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Pius X Church. She also worked as a volunteer at the adult center Meals on Wheels for three years and at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store for 17 years. She will be missed by everyone as she was a friend to everyone that she met.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Peters (Mike) of Fruita, CO and Peggy Bracamonte (Robert) of Flagstaff, her sister Dorothy Tompkins of Phoenix, four grandchildren (Lisa, Angela, Michael and Melanie and six great-grandchildren, Emma, Isabella, Roman, Dana, Hannah and Aiden.
Pita's family would like to thank Brookdale of Flagstaff and their staff for allowing her to remain in her home environment of Flagstaff. Thank you to the many friends that she made there, they became part of her family. Thank you to Maggie's Hospice for their loving care of Pita.
A visitation will be held at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, Rose Chapel, 2545 N. Fourth Street on Tuesday, November 14th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 224 S. Kendrick. Holy Rosary is at 10:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary. It is requested to please wear bright colors to the funeral.
