James J. Balda, born August 13, 1949, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Robert and Jane Balda. James passed away on October 1, 2023, in Flagstaff, Arizona. James served in the United States Army 101st Airbourne and 1st of the 501st Vietnam Veteran Platoon Medic. He enjoyed history, mythology, and Native American artifacts.

James is survived by his daughters Heather Balda, Heidi Balda, Natasha Etzel, Ashley Olivier, and Cadence Davis, sons James Robert Balda and Jeffrey Etzel, sister Cheryl Pielmiers and brother Michael Balda. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Balda, his parents Robert and Jane Balda, brothers Tony, Bob, and Harold, sister Shirley Ann, and Military brother Scotty.
