Jan J. Sanford (née Krumeich) was born January 17, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to Margaret and Thomas Krumeich. She is preceded in her parents' death and survived by her son Michael Burke (Lacy), Grandchildren Michael Tyler Henderson, Lauren Burke, Avery Burke & Christian Burke, as well as her sister Vicki Hotchkiss (Rick) and Brother Ted Krumeich.

Jan grew up in Ohio and later dedicated most of her life to secretarial work in Phoenix, Arizona, before retiring to Flagstaff, Arizona to be near her son. Annee, her devoted dog, was by her side and gave her love and companionship for many years. Jan cherished family time and delighted in being with her grandchildren, who all affectionately called her Nana. She found solace in her cozy home as well as outdoor activities (when the weather was warm and the wind wasn't blowing) such as gardening flowers, tending to her lawn and dressing up her porch goose for each season and holiday. Jan sought a simple and peaceful existence, where family meals and a cup of coffee in her rocking chair were among her most cherished moments. Her family and friends will deeply miss her love, sarcasm, advice and support as their lives were made better by knowing her.
