Jean T. Yazzie, 94, of Leupp, AZ, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, peacefully at her granddaughter's home in flagstaff.

She was born October 15, 1916 in Black Mountain, AZ. Her maternal clan is Tsi'naajinii (Honey comb Rock Clan) her paternal clan is Tsi'naajinii (Black Streak Forest Clan)

Jean was a weaver with natural colors, she enjoyed raising her children, gardening, raising her livestock (sheep and goats) and having visitors.

She is survived by her daughters; Cleo (Virgil) Todecozy, Helen F. Begay, and Bernita Morris, son Kee F (Lorraine) Yazzie, Sister Mae Smith, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband Bruno Yazzie; son; Andrew Yazzie; sisters Grace Thompson and Elsie Benally; brothers Justin Dick, Nelson Thompson, Martin Store and John Martin Store, and three other children who died very young.

Funeral Services will be held at the Leupp Presbyterian church on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:00 am (MST).
