JERRY J. O'BRIEN, Born September 2, 1964, passed away suddenly on February 04, 2014,Jerry was Past Commander ofThe American Legion,Mark A. Moore Post #3, and The Sons of The American Legion, Squadron #3.He was also a Past State Commander of The Sons of The American Legion, Detachment of Arizona, and Past National Executive Committeeman for the Sons of The American Legion, Detachment of Arizona. Jerry was also a member of the Elks, VFW Men's Auxiliary and the Mason's.
Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army from January 1984 until May of 1984, as a Graves Registration Specialist, and then enlisted in the United State Air Force in May of 1986 until July 1993 where he served as a Personnel Specialist for 4 years and 11 months and a Law Enforcement Specialist for 2 years and 11months.He received several Medals and commendations while in the Military.
Jerry was very well liked by everyone he met and always had a good heart.He will dearly be missed by the members of The American Legion family.
Jerry is survived by his, mother, June O'Brien of Mascoutah, IL, brother, Jay (Andrea) O'Brien and niece, Megan and Nephew, Jay Jr. of New Memphis, IL., uncle, Jim (Margaret) Landry and family of, Woburn, MA and Good Friend and Mentor, Bob Reyes of Flagstaff.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 12:00 noon with funeral service at 1:00 pm both at the American Legion Post #3, 204 W. Birch Ave. Burial will be at Citizens Cemetery, Veterans Section, 1300 S. San Francisco St. Veterans honors will be rendered by Flagstaff's Veterans Organizations.
