John Chavez, 66, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2014 in Prescott Valley, Arizona after a lengthy illness.John was born February 18, 1948 in Williams, Arizona and lived there until moving his family to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1972.He was an automobile enthusiast and cherished his classic cars.John was well known throughout the Flagstaff community for his many years as owner and operator of auto repair shops.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cora Chavez; son, Robert (Rachel) Chavez; and two grandchildren, Johnny Chavez III and Amanda Chavez (the children of his son Johnny Chavez Jr. who preceded him in death).He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Richard (Linda) Chavez, Anastacio (Mary Lou) Chavez, Barbara (Mike) McCallister, Annie Chavez; aunt Helen Martinez; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.No services are scheduled at this time.
