Obituary

Judy Lee Aguiñaga, née Pirtle, went home to her Lord on August 16, 2016. Judy passed as she had always said she would like, peacefully in her sleep. Her unwavering faith was always a source of solace and comfort in trying times and was bolstered by nightly readings of her Bible.Judy loved the outdoors, camping, long drives in the woods looking for wildlife, gardening, birdwatching, catching more fish than her husband, and weekend trips to Laughlin and Las Vegas. She cherished her backyard menagerie of birds, squirrels and chipmunks during the day, and gazing at the stars at night. It was an oasis she had fashioned over the years, and was her retreat from the daily rigors of life.

Born in Cottonwood, Judy ensured that as her children grew up, that they were connected with their family heritage with unlimited ventures through Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, and the Verde Valley which entailed childhood stories and family markers.

Judy had a knack for making others feel better with just her contagious smile. She always put the welfare of others ahead of her own, whether it was raising two children as a single mother while working full time at Ralston Purina, or with friends and relatives who were having a rough time. She not only gave of herself but also gave whatever assistance she was capable of providing. Her warmth and kindness will be sorely missed.Judy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Robert Aguiñaga, children Lona Lee Pirtle, Douglas Shelden, and stepson Sean Aguiñaga; grandchildren Avalon Leigh Rosas, Dylan Shelden, Devin Shelden, Saraya Aguiñaga, and sister, Leslie Hamm.Judy was predeceased by her parents, Albert Pirtle and LaVeda Parker, and sister, Vicki Dycus.

""Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.""_ Revelation 22:14
