Juliene Groseclose Hoener, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday August 2nd, 2013 at her home in Flagstaff Arizona, surrounded by her friends and family as she joined her husband Lloyd in heaven.
Juliene was born on her Grandmother Maggie Volker's farm 3 miles north of Zenith, Kansas and attended country schools in that area until she began commuting to Stafford beginning 9th grade. She attended Sterling College the three years while Lloyd was serving in the Navy during World War II prior to their marriage on July 8th, 1946.
Lloyd and Juliene lived in Hutchison, Kansas and Fort Collins, Colorado, while Lloyd got his degree in Forestry. Their homes and Lloyd's employment as a National Park Ranger were in National parks; The Everglades, Carlsbad Caverns, Yellowstone, Zion, and Grand Canyon. They raised their three sons, Neil, Kirby, and Stan in areas where other people came to spend their vacations.
In 1980 after 30 years of service, Lloyd and Juliene retired from the National Park Service, moving from Grand Canyon to settle in Flagstaff Arizona. Juliene was a Council Member of the Lamb of God Bible Church and an active church member for 22 years. Her perfect Sunday was Church at 10 am followed by lunch at the China Star restaurant.
She leaves her three sons and their spouses, Neil and Venessa Hoener, Kirby and Jeannie Hoener, and Stanton Hoener; her brother Leo Groseclose; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many close friends.
Juliene is preceded in passing by her mother Myrtle Richardson-Groseclose-Abbott-French, her father Ivan Leo Groseclose and her Husband Lloyd Raymond Hoener.
A memorial service will be held Friday August 9th at 2 pm, at The Lamb of God Bible Church. A small grave side burial service will be held August 13th at 10 AM at the Stafford Kansas Cemetery in Stafford, Kansas.
