Obituary

Kenneth A. Loeffler, 80, of Flagstaff, Arizona passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at home. Ken was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on January 20, 1944, to George and Malinda (Kenhammer) Loeffler.  He was the youngest of twelve children and the only one born in a hospital. In his younger years, he came from a family who owned a nursery where he learned gardening flowers and vegetables. This carried on for the rest of his life.

Kenny's parents were snowbirds and came to Phoenix, Arizona during those cold Wisconsin winter months. Little did he know that he would meet the love of his life in Junior High, Berta E. Enriquez. They eventually married on November 28, 1964, in Phoenix, Arizona. Theu had two daughters, Yvette and Yvonne.

He was a spiritual man who loved the lord with all his heart, attended church, and faithfully prayed for his family and friends.

In his life he worked many jobs, but his last profession was where he worked the hardest and enjoyed. He worked for NES road construction. Driving all over Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. When driving he loved to take in all the beautiful scenery.  Ken enjoyed watching football, baseball (Diamondbacks), and girls' college softball. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and wore his Packer gear with pride. He especially loved to watch his grandson, Tyler play soccer, baseball, and martial arts. He was looking forward to watching his great grandchildren Aspen and Truett play their first season in T-ball. Ken loved the outdoors and nature. He loved going out for a drive in the woods to look for elk and deer. He loved to fish and hunt getting a state record javelina in the early 1970's. He and his brothers were masters of gabbing, b.s.'ing, and loved to laugh.

Ken is survived by his loving family, his wife for almost 60 years, Berta, his two daughters Yvette (Pete) Schmelzle, Yvonne (Doug) Larsen, one grandson Tyler and two great grandchildren Aspen and Truett. He is proceeded in death by his parents, three grandchildren, Hope, Matthew, and Tanner Schmelzle, his five brothers, and his three sisters. He was loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all his family and friends.
