Obituary

Kim Lee McGuire, 67, formerly of Flagstaff, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at his home in McGuireville.

He was born on September 4, 1957, in Auburn, Washington, and attended Auburn High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge, Kim began working with his father in the vacuum cleaner business in Renton, Washington.

In 1977, he relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona with his father, where he operated the Kirby Good Housekeeping Shop on Cedar Avenue for 46 years, until his retirement in 2023.

Kim was a sports enthusiast and avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He also greatly cherished the time spent with his loyal customers at the shop. He had a deep love for family, especially his daughter, Katherine Sorenson, and his granddaughters, Savannah and Taylor. Additionally, he was stepfather to Carissa, Chase, Taryn and Dean.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois Williams; his father, Elbert "E.J." McGuire; his sister, Nancy (Ron); and his brother, James (Tamara).

Kim is survived by his daughter, Katherine (Matthew); granddaughters, Savannah and Taylor; brothers, Tony, Will (Debbie), Chuck (Carrie), and Pernell (Nancy); and sisters, Marci (Gene), Kelly, and Gail (Milfred), as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2401 E. Linda Vista, Flagstaff, Arizona, on July 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Kim will be remembered for his gentle manner, genuine kindness, and fierce loyalty to friends and family.
