She was raised in Williams, Arizona and graduated from Williams High School. She enjoyed school and she was a member of the Glee Club and the Williams High School Band.

While in high school, she worked as a waitress in one of their local restaurants in Williams, Arizona. She loved working and saved her money for special events. As time progressed, she married and raised five children. The eldest to the youngest is as follows: Richard Gilbert Santana, Ellen Marie Santana, Anthony Angelo Santana, Christine Josephine Santana and Theresa Corrine Santana Day.

After leaving Williams, Arizona, the family moved to Kingman, Arizona where she continued working in restaurants (The Jade Café, Oswalds Café and the City Café). She was known to be a hard worker and she would work extra hours whenever needed. All the customers loved her friendliness and she was always eager to serve them.

On October 31,1970 the family moved to Page, Arizona. This was during the boom of the construction era of the Navajo Generating Station. She worked at the Empire House Restaurant. She was a waitress for years and later became a cashier. She loved her job and was fortunate to have great bosses. When the Empire House Restaurant changed ownership, she worked at the family grocery store (Rudy and Angelo’s) before working as a Cashier in the gift shop at the Glen Canyon Dam Visitor’s Center, then Payless, and Walmart.

Her hobbies were working on crafts. She loved to crochet and knit. Throughout the years, she was known for her collection of dolls. Her favorite past-time was watching Elvis Presley movies.
