Obituary

Margaret Juliana Tajc passed away on March 2, 2018 at the young age of 84. She was born March 26, 1933 in New York City to Henry and Hilda Schneemann, grew up in South Ozone Park and graduated from Richmond Hill High School in Jamaica, NY. She was married to Otto J. Tajc in Williston Park, NY in 1957. She lived in West Islip and North Salem, NY for 17 years before moving cross country to Tucson, AZ with her husband and their 4 children in 1974. After working with her husband in several small businesses, both in NY and AZ, Margaret went to work for the Coronado National Forest. She acquired her Associates Degree in Business Management from Pima Community College at the age of 55. In 1988, she and Otto transferred to Grand Canyon National Park, where she served as Personnel Officer until her retirement in 1994.Otto passed away in 1995 and she spent the next 23 years traveling around the world, usually with her travel buddy, Clare McCracken, seeing all the places she had always dreamed about, but wasn't able to see while working and raising a family. She took a break from travel in 2001 to work for the Flagstaff Parks and Recreation Adult Center, where she planned, coordinated and traveled with the Trips and Travel 50+ program for 5 years. Her motto was, ""You will only regret the things you DIDN'T do"" and her love of travel made these trips a delight for all participants!

Margaret is survived by her son, Joseph (Annette) of Tucson, son Daniel (Wendy) of Flagstaff, daughter Frances (Edwin) Payne of Queen Creek and son Lawrence (Bonnie) of Las Vegas. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Nickolas, Chelsea (Joe), Eric, Daniel, Breana, Jeremy (Sarah), as well as great-grandchildren Kahlan, Xavier, Jeremiah, Charlotte and Raelynn.
