Obituary

Marguerite B. Nedley, born September 16, 1929, to Evelyn and John B. Bernier, left us on March 14, 2023. While we will miss the twinkle in her blue eyes, and the slightly wicked sense of humor, we know she is in the company of loved ones who had passed before her; including her parents Evelyn and John, first husband Vernon, second husband William, her brothers Gerry, John, and Arthur, and dear friends. She leaves behind her son, Eric Abramson, his wife, Debra and their daughter and Marge's darling granddaughter, Rebecca, her daughter, Suzanne Abramson, her youngest brother, George Bernier and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marguerite grew up in the Depression and was a member of the Greatest Generation. As a young woman straight out of high school, she worked as a dentist assistant which is where she met the love of her life, Vernon. As a dentist assistant she was part of the team responsible for introducing fluoride to toothpaste for which she received an award. She was pleased with this accomplishment but was most proud to be mother to Eric and Suzanne.

Marguerite lived life on her terms. Feisty, and a dash of stubborn, Marguerite insisted on living independently up to the last few months of her life when she moved in with her daughter Suzanne and enjoyed a white Christmas after being in the desert for more than 40 years.

Her family wishes to thank the nurses and support staff of Hospice Compassus for the care and kind assistance provided at the end of Marguerite's time with us.

In accordance with her wishes, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
