Marie "Billie" S. Heinrichs, the daughter of Willey and Marie Jackley was born December 15, 1927 in Oskaloosa, IA.Marie was born on her Uncle Bill's birthday, thus earning her the life-long nickname, "Billie".Billie graduated from Carroll High School and moved to Omaha, NE to work as a switchboard operator.She married Fritz Heinrichs on June 28, 1948 and together they raised 3 children and have been blessed with 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Billie worked in her husband's hardware stores in Iowa before moving to Flagstaff in 1971.She worked at the Greenlaw Village liquor store before finding her dream job at NAU.Billie was a switchboard operator and thoroughly loved talking to the college students . . . sometimes even about "how to do their laundry"!In 1989, she was honored to be chosen as NAU's Homecoming Dedicatee.In retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Billie passed away Tuesday morning, October 10, 2017 at the age of 89.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Jackley, sister Joan Ailts, husband Fritz Heinrichs and son, Mark Heinrichs.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Craig (Judy) Heinrichs of Oskaloosa, IA; daughter Kathy (Bobby) Smith of Flagstaff, AZ; daughter-in-law Janet Heinrichs of Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren Allegra (Philip) Waddell of Tucson, AZ, Jennifer (David) Skersick and Julie (George) Grecu of Flagstaff, AZ and Nicholas (Kelly) Heinrichs of Iowa City, IA; great-grandchildren Colson and Cooper Skersick, Laura, Annie and Michael Heinrichs and Brenna Grecu; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at 10:00 am at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary; family burial will follow at Citizens Cemetery.
