Marissa Leigh Diaz 29 took the hand of Our Lord and Savior the morning of Wednesday December 6th, 2023.

Marissa was born to Martin Diaz & Michelle Nez on January 20th, 1994, on her father's birthday.

Marissa attended Weitzel and Thomas Elementary Schools. She attended Coconino High School where she excelled in academics graduating with honors. After graduation, she worked as a leasing agent at Oakwood Village Apartments, before deciding to attend College America to pursue nursing.

Marissa became a caretaker for her father, younger brother and younger sister during her father's health struggles, stepping up to the plate with all her heart and soul, making her family proud of her. She had the biggest heart anyone could have. She gave the biggest hugs, and she had the funniest laugh, and every now and then she would let out a little snort. Marissa cherished all her Family and Friends, especially her Daddy, he was her hero.

Marissa was preceded in death by her mother, Michelle Nez, her Paternal Grandparents, Freddy & Virgie Diaz, her Maternal Grandparents Alfred & Marilyn Nez.

Marissa is survived by her loving father, Marty Diaz (Krishelle Seumptewa), siblings Marti (Tony) Almendarez, Michael Diaz, Monique Garcia, Haliana Diaz, several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her most adored nieces and nephews, and all her cherished friends she made throughout her short life. Marissa is also survived by her loyal companion Luna her doggie who she loved dearly.

Services will be on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel 224 S. Kendrick St Flagstaff, Az 86001. Holy Rosary will be @10 am, with funeral mass immediately following. Graveside services will follow @Calvary Catholic Cemetery 201 W University Dr Flagstaff, Az where Marissa will be laid to rest with her grandparents Freddy & Virgie Diaz.
