Martin Robert Otero Sr., 80, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Martin was born on March 5, 1941 in Flagstaff Arizona, where he grew up.
Preceded in death by his parents, Isidro and Ramona Otero. He is a beloved Father, Tata, and Friend to many who knew him. He is survived by his daughters, Marlene Cardoza, Sonia Otero-Hanley, (Todd) and Annette Hernandez ( Joe), Sons, Martin Otero Jr., ( Victoria), Nick Otero, (Carrie). Also survived by the mother of his children, Ophelia Ruiz Lopez and by his long-time Companion, Ophelia (Ophie) Ramirez.
Marty was a Veteran of the US Navy, he was honorably discharged in 1965. Marty was a loving family man, his gentle and easy manner endeared to all who knew him. He loved life to the fullest and that included, his love for hunting, camping and family gatherings. Marty's infectious sense of humor brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
He was a loving Tata to, Sal Aguilar, Joey Hernandez, April Cardoza, Jonathan Hernandez, Maya Hanley, Jacob Hernandez, Nickolas Otero, Gustavo (Jr.) Otero, Lauren Otero, Oscar Otero, Jaiden Hernandez and Daniel Otero. Also, survived by great grand-children, Elliana Espinoza, Arabella Hernandez, Atticus Hernandez, and coming soon, Carly Aguilar.
Marty was also very special and loved dearly by his extended Ramirez family. Dad/Tata, We love and miss you, you will live Forever in our Hearts…
Services will be held on Friday, May 28th beginning with the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church, 1600 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ. Inurnment will immediately follow the Massat Calvary Cemetery.
