Mary Rachel Nemire, 88, of Flagstaff, died on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Flagstaff Medical Center.She was born on March 4, 1925 in Deposit, NY to John and Emma Nemire.Mary was an avid basketball player since her childhood.In 1945 Mary became a missionary and devoted her live since then as a bible teacher to the Navajo children, teens and adults throughout northern Arizona, including Window Rock Mission, Indian Bible Church Flagstaff Mission to the Navajos and ANAM.She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters.Mary is survived by her dear friend and missionary; Lenita Vetter of Flagstaff.Mary will be truly missed by all of her friends and neighbors that she so faithfully guided for many decades.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 9:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 am both at Indian Bible Church, 10 W. Cherry St. in Flagstaff.Burial will follow services at Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco St.A reception to honor Mary's life will be at Calvary Bible Church, Townsend-Winona Rd. at 1:00 pm.
