The world lost a passionate and spirited man when Michael"Mike" Washburn died as the result of a motorcycle accident in Lake Havasu, Arizona on Easter Sunday 2015.

Mike was born in Prescott, Arizona and moved to Flagstaff with his family in 1983.Mike attended Flagstaff High School and graduated in 1991. He was a celebrated BMX, motocross and mountain bike racer. Including, at the age of 18, he was crowned the 1991 Mountain Bike Association (MBA) Arizona State Champion in the Expert 14-18 age class.

Mike loved to spend time boating on Lake Powell and Lake Havasu and riding in Glamis with friends and family.

Mike 's smile, infectious laugh and crystal blue eyes made him impossible to miss! His circle of friends is expansive and he never met a stranger.He was a master of conversation and storytelling, often bringing people to uncontrollable laughter and hysterical tears.

He is survived by his sons Cory and Joey Washburn and first wife Jennifer Washburn of Lake Havasu; his parents Timothy and Patricia Washburn of Flagstaff; his sister Kelly Washburn and her husband James Carson of Flagstaff; nieces and nephews Jessica, Abby and Clayton Beekman (Kenny and Alicia Beekman), Carson and Chloe Meyer (Andrew and Heather Meyer); several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as a multitude of close friends.

A Celebration of the Life of Mike Washburn will be hosted by his family and friends at the Hart Prairie Lodge at Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
