Paul Currivan, a devoted husband, father, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026. Born on February 24, 1950, Paul lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a profound commitment to those around him.
A proud veteran, Paul served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy, faithfully completing two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. His distinguished military career earned him the Meritorious Service Medal, a testament to his bravery and exemplary leadership. Following his retirement from active duty, he remained connected to service through his dedicated volunteer work.
Paul’s contributions extended far beyond his naval career. He was a steadfast supporter of his local community through his active involvement in the Coconino County Search and Rescue and Community Emergency Response Teams. His willingness to lend a hand in times of need epitomized his generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
Known affectionately as a supportive neighbor and avid horseman, Paul’s love for the outdoors and animals brought joy not only to himself but to all who knew him. His passion for equestrian pursuits was a vivid expression of his vibrant and active lifestyle.
At the heart of Paul’s life was his beloved family. He is deeply mourned by his wife, Julia Currivan, and his son, Andrew Currivan. Paul’s legacy also lives on through his siblings: sisters Jan Day (Currivan) and Mary O'Brien (Currivan), and brothers James Currivan and Vincent Currivan. He was predeceased by Thomas Currivan, Catherine O'Boyle (Currivan), and Gregory Currivan.
Paul Currivan’s life was one of unwavering dedication—to his family, his community, and his country. He leaves behind a profound legacy of kindness, strength, and service that will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. His memory endures in the hearts of his loved ones and in the community he so faithfully served.
