Paula Bricker Erickson, 68 of Westerville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2023, at Flagstaff Medical Center, in Flagstaff, Arizona surrounded by her family. Paula was excited about the opportunity of retracing her childhood memories in Northern Arizona just prior to her passing.
Paula was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio but spent her childhood in Arizona, before moving back to Norwich, Ohio. After graduating from Otterbein College, Paula taught grade school in Ohio, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas before she retired to raise her family and became a dedicated volunteer at school and church. Paula was a strong woman of faith and was always available to her family and friends for laughter, support, a hug, prayer, and friendship. Family was always her top priority. Paula loved poetry and all genres of music and as well as nature and the outdoors--finding the beauty in all the seasons regardless of where she lived. Paula's gusto for life and her readiness to head to her most favorite of places can be summed by her expression, "There's no such thing as a bad day at the beach!" Although she was known by many names—wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend-- her most cherished title of all was that of "Mimi" for her 5 grandchildren who she took every opportunity to spoil.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Chuck Erickson of Westerville; her son Matthew (Reanna) Erickson of Conroe, Texas; daughter Laura (Chris) Myers of Ft. Drum, New York, her grandchildren Liam, Emma, Jace, Dexter, and Abi; her sister Mary Bricker of Westerville; brother, Andy Bricker of Norwich, Ohio as well as a close-knit group of cousins and nieces.
A private celebration of life service will be held in the future. If you would like to honor her legacy, please consider a donation to Church of the Master, Westerville, Ohio (chmaster.org) or the Flagstaff Medical Center (nahealth.com) which provided such compassionate treatment and care.
