Philip C. Hernandez, 77, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, following a brief illness.
Philip was born in Flagstaff, July 3, 1933. He attended South Beaver Elementary School, Flagstaff Junior and Flagstaff High Schools. He spent a total of 27 years in the Army and National Guard Reserve. He worked in the construction field as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Philip is survived by children, Patrick (Sharelyn) Hernandez of Cottonwood, Eileen Hernandez of Tucson, Elaine (Emmett) Ullibarri of Glendale, Lloyd (Dorothy) Hernandez of Belmont, Phyllis Cancino of Tre Monton Utah, Ena (Tim) Valdez of Flagstaff. A brother Johnny of Las Vegas, ex-spouse Patsy Hernandez of Flagstaff. 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Felipe and Winifred (Castillo) Hernandez, sisters Martha Macias and Lila Lozano.
There will be a private service held at a later date.
