Sean Doctor

Sean David Doctor of Manchester, NH, and Phoenix, AZ, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2025, at the age of 42.

Sean was born on April 18, 1983, in Holbrook, AZ, and grew up in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated from Tolleson Union High School in Tolleson, AZ. He continued his education at the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2005. He returned to Phoenix and worked as a civil engineer while earning a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University in 2010. Sean moved to Boston, MA, in 2015, and continued his life with Jenna and their dog, Jack. His engineering career flourished in the Northeast, where he became a Senior Project Engineer for BETA of Manchester, NH. His professional work improved transportation systems that re-shaped the places where people lived, worked, and played. Sean grew to love New England and spent the last years of his life in Nashua and Manchester, NH.

Sean was witty, intelligent, compassionate, stalwart, and generous. He was an inspiration to his family and friends for his character and accomplishments. He took joy in all the pastimes of his childhood: sports, art, music, film, skateboarding, and the outdoors. He always shared his knowledge and recommendations of music, books, movies, tv, and skateboarding sites with everyone. He captained football pools, camping trips, and Mixcloud playlists. He loved watching the sun rise at his grandfather’s home among the red rocks at the base of Roanhorse Canyon in the Chuska Mountains. Sean will be missed by the red rocks, friends, and family that he loved and cared deeply for.

Sean is survived by his parents, Ellen (Roanhorse) and Oscar Doctor, Jr.; his sisters, Danielle Doctor and Alissa (Doctor) Valdez; his brother-in-law, Gregory Valdez; his nieces, Abbey and Sadie; his nephew, Evan Doctor; Evan’s wife, Jessica, and their son, Vincent. Sean is survived by relatives from his Roanhorse and Doctor families, and many longtime friends and family in Arizona and New Hampshire. Sean is preceded in death by his sister, Deanna Doctor; his grandparents, Roberta and Oscar Doctor Sr. of Flagstaff, AZ; and Annie and Allen Roanhorse Sr. of Navajo, NM.

Sean was laid to rest on December 23, 2025, at Citizens Cemetery in Flagstaff, AZ.
