Myers
March 8, 1933 – December 11, 2025
Sharon Lee Myers of Flagstaff, died on December 11th, at the Oliva White Hospice Home. A resident of Flagstaff since 1973, Sharon was born in Wesley, Iowa on March 8, 1933, to Robert F. and Verna C. Kain. Sharon graduated from Algona High School in
1950, and went on to attend Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. She had a passion for science and graduated with a degree in Medical Technology in 1954.
Wanting to spread her wings and experience life beyond the Iowa cornfields, Sharon found work with her degree in Portland, Oregon. It was in Portland that she learned to survive on her own. After a few years in Oregon, Sharon took a job at a hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
It was in Colorado Springs, that she met her future husband, Maurice E. Myers, who was studying to be a physcian. They were married on June 1, 1957 and moved to Omaha Nebraska. Maurice graduated from college and attended Marquette Medical School in Milwaukee Wisconsin. After graduating in 1964, they moved to Durand Wisconsin, where Maurice set up his medical practice. Together they had nine children, Pamela, David, Terry, Jim, John, Joe, Tom, Marsha, and Jerry.
Divorcing in 1972, Sharon moved herself and her nine children to Flagstaff in 1973. She loved the mountains and canyons of the area and never wanted to move again. Sharon is survived by her sons and daughters, seventeen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grand children.
