Obituary

Virginia Adella Valencia or (as many of us knew her as Della) entered eternal light Wednesday, December 6, 2023, surrounded by family, song and prayer.

Her spirit is carried on by her 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.

She was born August 15, 1937, in Colonias, New Mexico to Maria Rodriguez and Vicente Valencia and moved to Flagstaff, Arizona with her older siblings at age 14. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Della during her 85 years, among them: protect and love your family, never stand near Alvin when he's casting a line (unless you like fishhook earrings), the best piñon picking spots, tending to plants and animals with love and intention, the power of Jehovah, and the importance of a good perm. Della had a personality like no other. As each generation grew to the next, Della's heart grew bigger. She could brighten up the cloudiest of days with her sense of humor and of course, her comfort food. She vigorously and so proudly protected her family and loved ones from any harm. She was a true epitome of strength.

Della lived her life serving and protecting others. She worked with DES serving children and families in the community for 23 years. A woman of many interests and hobbies from embroidery, coloring, crosswords, collecting Knick-knacks, fishing, getting wood, reading true crime, to watching baseball and basketball. She was a committed witness who attended Kingdom Halls in both Phoenix and Flagstaff.  Aside from her faith, Della enjoyed bingo nights and getting lucky at Cliff Castle Casino, and warm sunny days in her garden enjoying her green apple tree and the plentiful flowers she planted.

Della is survived by sons Terry, Conrad, Daniel, Cres, and Alvin Bobadilla, daughters Vangie Pembrook and Deborah Davis's sister Modesta Sandoval.

She is preceded in death by her many pets whom she adored, her daughter Victoria Bojourquez, granddaughter Ambrosia Pembrook, four brothers Pilar, Vicente, Leo, and Larry Valencia, three sisters Flora, Maryann, and Grace.
