It is with heavy hearts that the Vitalia Pombo family share her passing on March 28, 2025, at the young age of 87. Born January 1st, 1938, as a preemie under 2 lbs. in Rowe NM.
Vitalia grew up in Rowe, NM, Oakland, CA & Flagstaff AZ, where she graduated from Flagstaff High School. She was an MVP Volleyball player known for her spikes. She graduated from the School of Cosmetology, a Professional Hair Stylist, owning "Vi's Styling Salon" for many years retiring in 1988 to care for her mother.
On July 23, 1967, Vitalia married the love of her life, "Spanish Eyes" Adolfo Pombo. They raised 3 children and resided in Flagstaff. Vitalia was a devoted wife & mother. Her family was everything to her. She never tired talking about Adolfo, her kids & grandchildren always singing their praises. She saw the good in people, was of deep Catholic faith serving faithfully throughout her life & always brought her sweet smile, sense of fun & encouragement to all she encountered. She was a green thumb planter, enjoyed cooking/baking, crafts/painting, family travel, a café latte & a DQ vanilla cone.
Vitalia was always supporting charitable organizations. She donated her time at St. Pius X Catholic Church where she taught confirmation classes, was a member of the Legion of Mary, member of bereavement committee, volunteered at St. Mary's Elementary School and was a member of women's committee (San F. de Asis).
Vitalia was preceded in death by her beloved parents Manuel & Maria Archuleta, her son Manuel Pombo, her younger sister Aurora Gonzales & her nephew Joseph Gonzales. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years & 8 months Adolfo, her daughter Maria Pombo Peterson (Mark) and her son Jose Pombo (Jolene); 4 Grandchildren Devin, Miah, Christian & Aaden.
A Memorial Service will be held in Flagstaff, Friday, April 4, 2025, at 10 A.M. San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, East Route 66 (up Ponderosa Hill). Cemetery burial Calvary Cemetery, 201 W University Dr; Reception immediately following burial in the Bon Venture Room at San Francisco de Asis Church until 4 P.M.
