Obituary

William "Bill" Way, 53, passed away Monday, October 3rd. He beat all odds by surviving an astonishing fourteen years following a double lung transplant in 1997, and he made the most of every moment of it. He very much enjoyed the company of his family, gardening, video games and was an avid hunter until the end, getting his first and only antelope just weeks before his passing. In recent years, he found solace in the summer's hummingbirds and watched their antics for hours. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kim, son, Owen, and daughter, Shelbey, as well as his mother, Norma Way, and three sisters: Leiann (Jim) Morris, Deni (Bruce) Barnhart, and Rhonda (Billy) Henson, and his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his three beloved dogs, Zepplyn, Jade and Honeybug. And one worthless cat, Josey. He was proceeded in death by his father, Clyde Way. Services will be held at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth St., on Saturday, October 8th, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Hope Chest News at hopechestnews.org or the Alpha-1 Foundation at 2937 S.W. 27th Ave. ST302, Miami, Florida 33133.
